Seed Repository

Seed your new, empty, Git repository with a demo Java web application.


Open a terminal window in your Cloud9 environment.

Change directory to the environment directory and clone your Git repository, using the clone URL you just copied.

cd ~/environment
git clone <your repository URL>

You will see a message warning you that you cloned an empty repository.

Cloning into 'DemoApp'...
warning: You appear to have cloned an empty repository.

Populate your new, empty, repository with the demo Java application.

curl -s | tar -xzv
cd DemoApp

Before making your initial commit, configure Git with your name and email address.

git config --global ""
git config --global "Your Name"

Commit your changes to the local Git repository and push your changes to the CodeCommit-hosted repository.

git add .
git commit -m "Initial commit"
git push
